This past week and weekend has been long, and it looks like a long week ahead too. A friend had posted this video from Saturday Night Live tonight, and it has helped me get my spirits up.
I especially loved the well timed musical cues.

Just watched this today. A very interesting and gritty film by Kevin Smith who is known mostly for his comedies such as Clerks and Dogma. I’m a HUGE fan of Dogma myself but seeing Kevin Smith work so intently on a film like this, he is the writer and director, I LOVE because it is so different from his other works. It’s daring and creative and worth a watch if you have Netflix streaming.
Also cudos to my Dad for recognizing one of the kids from Sky High! He’s kind of awesome that way.
And yes, it was a very good movie and George Clooney and Shailene Woodley are really good in it but….It’s bothering me how much Oscar buzz this movie is getting and not 50/50 which I feel is very thematically similar but has a much more powerful performance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and was over just a more touching and powerful film. I do not mean this in anyway to diminish how good a film The Descendants really is but if it’s going to be nominated for Oscars than 50/50 damn well better too!
